Our Leadership and Team Development Theory: Introduction
The activities and interactions were great. They really helped to push the material forward without being corny. The program was very professionally delivered
Naturally, you want to choose carefully the company you will trust with your team development needs. A bad training experience from a consultant can negatively impact your team and reinforce low morale. Participants could leave saying “That was a total waste of time” or “this will never stick,” and the problems and frustrations will remain.
Transformative Training Solutions consistently receives positive feedback from participants that our training are both powerful and fun.
One major reason for this is that we don’t just “deliver content” to groups – we facilitate our groups based on a dynamic theoretical model that incorporates over 100 years of research. This proprietary model successfully guides all of our facilitation, leadership, and team development programs – from basic half-day training to long-term consulting projects and coaching.
The Transformative Training Solutions model incorporates the following contributions in the field of organizational development:
- In the 1920’s Carl Jung published Psychological Types which was incorporated into the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and is still widely used today
- In the 1930’s William Marston’s research led to the user-friendly DiSC personality system to improve the workplace and has been refined by the Wiley publishing company into a comprehensive set of effective materials.
- In the 1940’s Kurt Lewin’s research led to the 3-part model of organizational change that is a foundational principle in everything we do.
- In the 1950’s, Chris Argyris transformed organizations by implementing programs intended to educate and improve the working conditions of team members.
- In the 1970’s Stafford Beer developed the Viable System Model which was used to restructure large organizations and provide real-time decision making.
- In the 1980’s David Cooperrider developed the Appreciative Inquiry leadership model for culture change and improved performance of organizations.
- We also incorporate more modern contributors like Stephen Covey, Peter Drucker, Jeff Hiatt, Patrick Lencioni, Marshall Rosenberg and Cliff Barry to provide innovative insight on organizational culture change and change management.
Current research shows these models continue to produce consistent performance improvement over decades. Our success in working with teams and leaders is based on our skill and experience in choosing the appropriate tool to create a custom solution for your team and leadership development needs.
Drawing from this extensive OD background, we actively facilitate leaders and teams in experiential exercises and group conversations aimed at
- generating new perspectives on your strengths and challenges.
The result is that your teams will make new agreements based on these fresh insights with high levels of “buy-in”. We then work with you over time to support team accountability and long-term implementation for culture change.
We have over 20 years of experience introducing tools to improve conflict resolution, accountability, communication, diversity, leadership, management, culture change and leadership coaching. We have seen these tools produce consistent improvements time and time again, especially when introduced sequentially and with the intent to resolve a specific challenge. The result is an overall more responsive, dynamic and viable organization.
